Day 1 - Naples
Your vacation begins with an overnight flight to Italy.
Day 2 - Naples
Arrive in Naples, where you’ll be greeted by a Go Ahead representative after clearing customs. Upon checking in to your hotel, you’ll have some free time to explore Naples at your leisure. Get to know your fellow travelers at tonight’s included traditional pizza dinner.

Day 3 - Naples
Discover Napoli this morning for an expertly guided tour of the city. You’ll walk through the historic city center seeing sites such as the 14th-century Gothic cathedral, the Castel dell’ Ovo, home to the last Roman emperor, Romulus Augustulus and the neo-classical Teatro San Carlo. Descend into subterranean Naples and see the city beneath the city as you wander through the incredible network of catacombs, aqueducts and underground passageways.
Later, examine the extensive collections of Roman art and antiquities unearthed from Herculaneum and Pompeii at the National Archaeological Museum, one of Italy’s most important museums.

Day 4 - Sorrento
Step back in time to the Roman Empire on today’s expedition to Pompeii. Buried in the ash of Mount Vesuvius’ eruption in A.D. 79, Pompeii’s temples, homes and arches remained perfectly preserved. Your walking tour takes you along ancient streets, past impressive ruins to witness how wealthy Romans lived. You’ll see the Forum and the mesmerizing paintings of the Villa of Mysteries. Later, get up-close and personal with the legendary volcano on a trek to the still-active peak. You’ll be treated to lovely views of the surrounding countryside when you climb to Vesuvius’ crater. Continue on to your hotel in Sorrento, where dinner is included this evening.

Day 5 - Sorrento
Today’s full-day excursion takes you along the picturesque Amalfi coastline. Enjoy breathtaking views of crystal blue water and secluded beaches as you drive past terraced hillsides and lovely, whitewashed towns. Arrive in Ravello. You’ll tour Ravello’s alluring gardens before setting out on today’s walk from Amalfi to Atrani, the tiny seaside town that inspired Dutch artist M.C. Escher. Return to Sorrento this evening, where you might choose to enjoy a local folk dance performance at our optional Tarantella Dinner.

Island of Ischia
Nestled in the Gulf of Gaeta lies the “Emerald Island” of Ischia.
Travel today to this island noted for its beaches, pine groves,
vineyards and cureall thermal spas. Monte Epomeo, the volcano near the
island’s center, last erupted in the 14th century, but still provides
the heat for the thermal springs that draw so many visitors to Ischia’s
famous spas. You’ll have free time to walk the gardens, consider a spa
service or grab a light lunch.

Day 7 - Sorrento
Today is free for you to explore Sorrento at your own pace. You could explore Sorrento’s lovely gardens and churches, browse the quaint shops along its cobblestoned alleyways or sit at a café and people-watch. Alternatively, partake in an optional morning adventure, as your Tour Director leads a walk along the Path of Gods in the villages of Positano and Nocelle. Be prepared for spectacular seascapes of russet-colored cliffs plunging into the sea and colorful boats dotting sandy coves. With a free afternoon at your leisure, you may wish to wander Praiano’s gardens and villas overlooking a terraced hillside or explore Positano on your own.

Path of Gods
On this classic, three-hour walk of the Amalfi Region, follow the mountaintop Path of Gods—a steep, winding route that once served as the only connection between the Amalfi settlements. On our Sorrento local villages walk this morning, experience a more quaint and traditional side of the Amalfi coastline.
